WHAT. A. YEAR. If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that resilience is one of the most useful and self-supportive of the human qualities. Whether we've been directly affected by Covid19 or have had to adapt our living and working patterns to the ongoing global pandemic, we've all had to draw on unexpected reserves to keep going and stay hopeful this year.
There does appear to be light at the end of the tunnel, thanks to the amazing efforts of our scientists and caring professions (bless them, each and every one!) but there will undoubtedly be more challenges ahead as we move forward and into 2021.
The mental health charity Mind has some important things to say about resilience:
Resilience is not just your ability to bounce back, but also your capacity to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances, whilst maintaining a stable mental wellbeing. Resilience isn't a personality trait – it's something that we can all take steps to achieve.
That's pretty good news, right? if nothing else, it reminds us that we can be proactive in putting ourselves in the best possible position for 2021, and whatever it brings.
So, what steps can we take to build our resilience?
I'm so glad you asked! I've put together a guide especially for you on this very topic. It's completely FREE - a gift from me to you - and it takes you through my 10 Resilience Reminders - a set of pointers that will help you take your resilience-building practice into your own hands, starting right now.
It also includes practical suggestions for how you can make each and every one of these Resilience Reminders an ongoing practice in your life forevermore. Yay!
